Plot Of Haunted Mansion
The film revolves around Ben Matthias, a deeply loving husband to Alyssa. She is a ghost tour guide while he is an astrophysicist. Alyssa died in a car crash and Ben gave up his career to continue her ghost tour looking for signs of his wife in famous haunted places. Travis with his doctor mother Gabbiemoves to Gracey Manor to execute a business idea.
Their property is haunted by many ghosts. Ben is hired by Father Kent, a priest and exorcist to photograph ghosts in Gracey Manor. Ben initially refuses, but is later forced by a ghost Mariner to return to the mansion. Harriet, a psychic, is recruited by Ben and Kent to steal something from Bruce Davis, a historian.
They contact a spirit who instructed them to contact Madame Leota. Leota resides in a crystal ball locked in an attic. Ben finds Leotta and discloses to them the past of the house. Hatbox Ghost is the evil spirit that trapped Leotta in the magic ball. Hatbox Ghost is revealed to be a rich heir named Alistair Crump, who was abused and banished by his father.
He in revenge killed a few socialites and ultimately got killed by servants. He needs the 1000th soul in the house by sacrificing or killing someone in order to escape the mansion. The team manages to send Crump to the afterlife. Crump tried to persuade Ben to sacrifice himself as he would be able to see his wife again.
But Ben responded with a kick and said that he is at peace now. Many ghosts decided to stay in the mansion, but in a friendly way. The group later reunites in the same mansion for a Halloween party and everyone seems to be enjoying their life and the party as well.
