Halo Book Before Game has been released and Halo Infinite is coming. We’ve known that for a while now. Ever since a gorgeous reveal trailer at E3 2018, Halo fans have been dying to know more about Master Chief’s next journey. We got another trailer at E3 2019, but even that one didn’t contain any gameplay.
No Gameplay Footage
This was originally supposed to be an Xbox One title. However, at E3 2019 where they showed off a new trailer, they revealed that it’s going to come out on the next-gen Xbox Series X as well. Naturally, since the newer console is significantly more powerful than even the Xbox One X, it’s going to look much better on it.
Developer 343 Industries also mentioned that they’re using the new SlipSpace Engine to make the game. They built this Engine with the PC platform in mind, too. We know all this about the game. Yet we’ve seen no gameplay and have no release date.

Exciting Releases In The Meantime (Halo Book Before Game)
This long, quiet waiting period, hasn’t been boring for Halo fans, though. The release of the Halo Master Chief Collection on Steam has kept them busy. Players who own the collection can already enjoy Halo Reach and Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition, too.
Now, with the announcement that a new Halo book is coming, the wait till we learn more about Halo Infinite should be even more bearable. Troy Denning is going to write this book, titled Halo: Shadows of Reach. Long-time Halo fans may be familiar with Dennings’ name. He has already written four books set in the Halo universe, with 2019’s Halo: Oblivion being the latest one.
A Familiar Setting (Halo Book Before Game)
Fans will also be excited to go back to the planet of Reach, where the game “Halo: Reach” is set. What’s even more interesting about this book, in particular, is when its story takes place. The events of this book will take place after 2015’s Halo 5: Guardians. It will help fill in the gaps between that game and Halo Infinite.
Considering the fact that Halo 5, the last entry in the series, ended on a massive cliffhanger, Halo fans will be dying to know what happened in its aftermath. The book’s synopsis is already up on Halo Waypoint and it should give them a taste of what’s to come.
