Running successfully till 2012, the show consists of 6 seasons and is narrated by the voice of a blogger, Gossip Girl. Set in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the show revolves around the twisted lives of the privilege teens of the UES.
The central cast of the show includes Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Kelly Rutherford, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Kaylee DeFer, Taylor Momsen, Jessica Szohr, Ed Westwick, and Matthew Settle.
Gossip Girl: Reboot
In July 2019, WarnerMedia ordered a reboot of the popular TV series for their upcoming streaming service HBO Max. The new production would borrow the title from the older one. The show is not so much a reboot as a continuation. Set in the same world of Manhattan’s UES, it has been fast-forwarded eight years after the end of the old series in 2012.
In the upcoming show, the creators and showrunner from the Gossip Girl have returned to resume their roles. Another person returning is Kristen Bell, who voices the blogger, Gossip Girl, in the show.
The filming of the show began this month in New York City.
