The first edition of the Goblin Slayer light novel was released on Feb. 15, 2016, and since then, it has turned out to be a really famous franchise.
Now, there’s multiple Goblin Slayer manga series, anime television series & a film. After all this, fans still have a question in mind, where’s Goblin Slayer Season 2?
Goblin Slayer Season 1 was released on October 7, 2018, & with just 12 episodes, it ended on December 30, 2018. Now, it’s almost 2 years there’s not even a single announcement regarding season 2.

In a world of fantasy, adventurers come from far and wide to join the Guild. They complete contracts to earn gold and glory. An inexperienced priestess joins her first adventuring party but comes into danger after her first contract involving goblins goes wrong.
As the rest of her party is either wiped out or taken out of commission, she is saved by a man known as Goblin Slayer, an adventurer whose only purpose is the eradication of goblins with extreme prejudice.

Factor 1: Sales & Profit
This is one of the three important factors a production house considers before renewing anime series. Producing an anime series like Goblin Slayer can cost 250 million yen. Then the chances of its renewal increase exponentially if the first season books 20-25% profit.
At the time of release in 2018, Goblin Slayer anime sold around 4,000 copies of blu-ray disc on average. Apart from this, the 12th volume of Goblin Slayer Light Novel sold around 27,000 copies worldwide which is less than the sale of the predecessor volume.
Looking at these declining numbers, White Fox might officially pull the plug.
Factor 2: Goblin Slayer (2020) Film Performance
Goblin Slayer Goblin’s Crown was the first movie released under the Goblin Slayer franchise.
The sad part here is that it struggled at the Box-Office. It made 100,000,000 Yen in Japanese cinema. Well, that’s around 1 million dollars in the United States. Further, the films sold 4,000 Blu-Ray copies worldwide. Goblin Slayer Goblin’s Crown had a limited release in Accel World movie & it performed worse than any anime film in history.
That’s not good news for the Goblin Slayer anime fans. All these factors can play an important role in the anime series cancellation.
So, these are the reasons why I believe that there are no chances of getting Goblin Slayer Season 2.
