Ford GM These Companies Beginning To Work On Producing Ventilators And Face Shields

After the request from the government. different automobile manufacturers started the production of ventilators and face shields. This decision was made after it became important to have more equipment in the healthcare field. Besides, mainstream automobile brands including Ford, Tesla, and GM had received orders to make ventilators and metal products.

Ford started its work on products for front-line healthcare workers and COVID-19 patients. They partnered with 3M to build powered PAPRs (Powered Air-Purifying Respirators. By this, employees of both companies can together increase the production capacity. Besides, they can produce more effective medical equipment.

Operators and assemblers assemble medical face shields. Ford Motor Company, in cooperation with the UAW, will assemble more than 100,000 critically needed plastic face shields per week at a Ford manufacturing site to help medical professionals, factory workers and store clerks.

More Brands Together For More Productivity Ford

Above all, Ford is also going to utilize its 3D printing capability to make face masks. They are anticipating to make pieces more than 100,000 per week. Face masks are an important thing for front-line healthcare workers. Because it helps them from the droplets and air inside the room where COVID-19 patients admitted.

The U.K also requested Ford for ventilators. So, they also make separate efforts for manufacturing ventilators. Besides, they are shipping back 165,000 N95 respirator masks from China. The situation in China came into control and it continues to improve. Now the U.S has more need for all this equipment.

 

Ford spokesperson said that it is time we have to join our country to fight against the pandemic coronavirus. Meanwhile, Tesla and GM are making their ventilators. N95 respirator masks are battery powered and it has a swappable battery pack.

It can filter airborne virus particles for up to eight hours. Beyond everything, both companies are planning to produce the most efficient equipment using facilities from both brands.

Ford and GE are also combining to produce new types of ventilators. Even though, they don’t have a timeline or estimates on production capacity yet. After all, they are working feverishly for it.
