The representatives of Johnny Depp are finally speaking out in response to rumours that the actor has been given a significant sum of money to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” film franchise.

After the actor won the defamation case he brought against his ex-wife Amber Heard, there were rumours that he was working on a deal worth $301 million for the possibility of his returning to his role as the famous Disney character. In a statement given to NBC News, a representative for Johnny responded to queries regarding the rumour, but, sadly for his followers, the rumour is not real!

The comment to the portal said, “This is completely fabricated.”

Only a week ago, whispers began to circulate that the actor might reprise his role as the infamous pirate in an upcoming movie. Many believed that this would happen very soon.

A source close to four years after the actor severed ties with the production firm told PopTopic that Disney is “extremely interested in patching up their connection with Johnny Depp.” This information was provided by the source. They have a lot of faith that Johnny will forgive them and come back as the famous persona he played in the past.

An insider in the business community reportedly stated that the company is arranging a deal worth $301 million as a formal apology and a request for the actor to return as the much-loved character in the role. According to the source, “They reached out to the actor prior to his defamation trial against Amber Heard and asked whether he would be interested in returning for another Pirates picture or two and asked whether he would be interested in returning for another Pirates film or two.”

During the course of the trial for defamation, the counsel representing Heard posed the following question to Disney: “Is Disney aware that Mr. Depp has stated under oath that he would not take another “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise role for $300 million and a million alpacas?”

Reportedly, the transaction in question also included a sizeable contribution to a charitable organisation of Depp’s choosing. It has been said that the crew is putting the finishing touches on a movie and possibly developing it into a series on the early years of the Captain’s life.

In the meantime, production on Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is continuing as usual, and Margot Robbie is now in discussion to play a role. The question of whether or not the cast and crew would continue working on ‘POC 6’ was posed to producer Jerry Bruckheimer during an interview with the Sunday Times. He said “Yes. We’re chatting to Margot Robbie. We are currently working on two different versions of the Pirates script: one with her and one without her.”
