On August 31, 2018, the director Sam Hargrave announced that ‘Dhaka’ which is renamed as ‘Extraction’ is a screenplay of Joe Russo.
The shooting of the film started in Ahmedabad and Mumbai in November 2018 and prolonged to November 2019. The following shooting part goes in Ratchaburi, Thailand, Dhaka, Bon Pong. Before the finalization of the film’s name, it is renamed twice- as ‘Dhaka’ at the first and ‘out of the fire’ later.

The entire film Extraction is based on the underworld of weapon dealers and traffickers. The leading role Tyler Rake is played by Chris Hemsworth, who is a fearless black market mercenary. In the film the Tyler rescue the kidnapped young son of Bangladeshi businessman and crime lord. The remaining story goes with the saving of the businessman son and the quandaries he faced during rescuing.

Speaking about Extraction, Hemsworth said in an interview that his new role has ‘re-energized’ him. “It awakened the young teenager in me again. Not to say I’m pushing my limits or I’m over the hill in any way,
but you notice through the years things like, ‘Oh, there’s a little hitch in my knee that wasn’t there before or a tweak in my shoulder I didn’t notice,” he had added.
