In her most recent ELLE interview, Dua Lipa doesn’t seem to be kissing and telling, but she did provide some really sound dating advise for single people.

“Training Season,” a song from Lipa’s recently released album Radical Optimism, was inspired by something, she recalled. “I was like, ‘Okay, I’m going to write down what I want.'” the ability to write things into reality and manifest things via the power of words. Knowing your value helps you identify what you want and don’t want in life.

She went on to explain why it’s okay to stay single and not rush into changing your relationship status. “I didn’t wish it away when I was single, but I was talking about this with one of my dancers today because she was going through a breakup,” Lipa remarked.

Whether it’s spending that time alone yourself or going on a date, you discover a lot about yourself. You discover your true self in the stillness. In the big picture, I was conducting research. (Actor Callum Turner and Lipa were recently spotted cuddling, and Lipa stated in an ELLE interview that she isn’t single right now.)

Although Lipa is accustomed to working hard, she also finds delight in all that life has to offer. “Whether I’m performing or going out, if it’s not fun, I don’t want it,” she stated. Joy needs to have a place. Goddamn, I don’t know what you did if you didn’t strive to be joyful at least once in your life, even if the world was burning down.
