Disney: From Little Mermaid To Home Alone, Production For Various Titles Suspended

Many events, movies, launching events and TV shows got canceled due to the pandemic coronavirus. Those abolished events include many of the highly expected movies and games. Together with all of them, Disney also eliminated the production of many of their movies.

Canceled movies include Little Mermaid, Peter Pan & Wendy, Nightmare Alley, Shrunk and the Last Duel. Till now there were no one affected the virus. It is only for the rigorous precaution for the safety of everyone. But unlike all of them, there were no programs that Sony had to cancel.

What Is Happening In Disney

Disney‘s spokesperson said that this decision was made in the interest of employees and artists for their safety. It is a much more needed break in the current situation. There are no confirmed cases of coronavirus inside Disney. All the remaining shoots and production works will continue as soon as possible.

Productions That Got Halted

Live-action shoot for director Rob Marshall’s Little Mermaid was scheduled to go behind camera on the next week.

Director of the movie Legend of The Rings decided to self isolate himself for the safety of his newborn baby. So the production got halted. That movie is scheduled to release on Feb 12, 2021.

Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel stopped indefinitely because he is taking the already-completed parts of the movie for editing.

It is all set to release in states on Christmas. I Shrunk the Kids starring Josh Gad and Rick Moranis is the reboot of Honey. Its director is Joe Johnston. Peter Pan & Wendy is a live-action movie based on the novel of J M Barrie.

Nightmare Alley from Searchlight pictures is by Guillermo del Toro. The actors were Bradley Cooper, Rooney Mara, and Cate Blanchett.

Besides, It’s shooting already started in Toronto. The script of this movie written by Kim Morgan based on a 1946 novel by William Lindsay Gresham. Disney will update more about their further moves in the coming weeks.
