The post apocalyptic genre is rife with so many anime, yet Darling in The Franxx somehow manages to stand out and give its viewers the ride they deserve.
The show follows humanity as they are almost at the edge of extinction. The klaxosaurs have almost wiped out every last remnant of human life that remains. The ones who remain have grouped themselves up in an organization and called themselves “ape”.
Hiro is the main protagonist of the show, and the series follows his adventures fighting against the Franxx, giant robots intent on destroying humanity. He is on a quest to save humanity, but what will be the consequences?

According to official sources, there has been no announcement for season 2 of the anime so far. It seems that due to the critical audience reaction, the creators of the show are themselves hesitant about a renewal of the show. While the first season was certainly great enough to warrant renewal for the second one, it ended in a way that it doesn’t really need to put out another season and it would still be fine. On the other hand, animes can sometimes take a hiatus and then come back years later. So it could go any way. But the chances that a second season will come out don’t look very good right now honestly. Mostly because of the way season 1 ended up tying all loose ends.

While we certainly hope for a second season of Darling in the Franxx, the future doesn’t look too good.
