According to the World Health Organisation, Brazil has 179,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases to date. 72,597 people have recovered. However, 12,484 people have died in the country due to the virus.

Moreover, Brazil has become the sixth worst affected country in terms of death from the coronavirus. Mexico has 38,324 confirmed COVID-19 cases to date. 17,781 people have recovered. However, 3926 people have died in the country.

Increase In Fatality Rate In Brazil

The pandemic threatens to become worst in the Americas. Furthermore, the Brazilian health authorities reported 881 fatalities in the last 24 hours. According to John Hopkins University, Brazil has become the sixth worst affected fatality country in the world.

This is the deadliest toll the country saw to date due to the coronavirus. Also, Brazil stands at 12,484 fatalities after a sudden surge of cases in the last 24 hours. The government is imposing lockdown.

Furthermore, Dr. Anthony Fauci, a top public health expert from the US said that the American sub-continent can have much worse severe consequences if the lockdown is relaxed at this stage.

Increase In Fatality Rate In Mexico

The Mexican health authorities confirmed 1997 new COVID-19 cases along with 353 deaths in the last 24 hours. This is the most deadly day for Mexico since the pandemic began. Moreover, Mexico recorded relatively fewer fatality cases in the near past.

However, after Tuesday, things changed as the fatality number rose massively. Moreover, the country is again taking strict quarantine actions to reduce fatalities and new COVID-19 cases in the country.
