The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild is one of the Nintendo Switch’s marquee games. It was one of the console’s launch titles and it helped the system start off with a bang. Even now, around 3 years after its release, Breath Of The Wild remains a beloved game among fans.
Popular Games Getting Mods (Breath Of The Wild)
One of the ways that these fans often show their appreciation for games that have managed to maintain their attention for such a long duration is through mods. Both Grand Theft Auto V and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim are the perfect examples of an old game with an active modding community.
Modder Lady Luna is giving The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild a similar treatment. The modders are taking Breath Of The Wild and giving it a new coat of paint. This coat of paint is intended to make it look like Platinum Games’ NieR Automata. Another 2017 release, Automata is also an open-world action-adventure game.

Similarities Between BOTW And Automata
So, it’s understandable where Lady Luna made the connection between the two. However, it’s not just a simple mod that makes Link look like Automata’s 2B. It does do that, but it does so much more than that.
It’s a massive, comprehensive mod that changes the look of the whole game. Everything from the menus, the weapon designs, music, even some dialogue. It’s not just a simple cut-and-paste transplant of 2B’s character model, either. Lady Luna has touched it up a bit to make it fit into Breath Of The Wild’s art style. It’s seamless.
Incredibly Detailed Mod (Breath Of The Wild)
Speaking of the music, while Breath Of The Wild has a great soundtrack, I’m going to have put Automata’s music a cut above. So, when you’re going up against a creature out in Breath Of The Wild’s open world and NieR Automata’s epic battle music comes on, it’s just awesome.
There is so much attention to detail, too. The mod doesn’t ignore Breath Of The Wild’s gliding mechanic. Instead of 2B jumping off a cliff and unfurling Link’s traditional glider, you’ll notice that she’s hanging onto her and 9S’ companion robots.
This is a delightful mod to install, especially if you’re a fan of both games. So, if you’ve already beaten Breath Of The Wild and want to switch things up a bit, maybe give this mod a shot.
The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild is out now for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite.
