Brandi Carlie and Catherine Shepherd have been married since 2012 and together they have two kids. Over a decade they have been going strong and happy.
In 2009, Brandi Carlie who is the Grammy award winning artist as well as social activist met her wife over the phone when Catherine was working for Beatles singer Paul McCarthey’s charity. The couple met in person in 2010 and tied a knot years later along with three separate wedding ceremonies.
During walking red carpets and attending charity events the duo welcomed two children daughters named Ruth and Elijah. In 2021, Carlie told the journey of parenthood and said that –
“I made peace with knowing that there was some pioneering involved in what we were doing, to the point where there wasn’t even a two mother template on a birth certificate yet,”‘

When Brandi Carlie Did Met Catherine Shepherd?
Despite of spending an entire year by making long distance phone calls, Carlie was surprised when she finally met Catherine in person in New York City in 2010 and Carlie told that –
“It was shocking to say the least,” “Every time I talked to her over the phone, I thought I was talking to somebody who was like 65 years old. I don’t know why. I think because of her wisdom and her demeanor. Or maybe I thought she was Paul’s age or something. So we met backstage in New York, and we were both like 27.”

When Brandi Carlie Got Married?
On 15th of September 2012, Brandi Carlie tied a knot with Catherine Shepherd in Boston in front of their family and friends. Brandi shared this news on social media and wrote that –
“See I’m sure all weddings have an insane week preceding the event but me and Catherine might have won that contest,” she wrote on Facebook. “Bailey (the dog) had to be rushed to the vet on our wedding day, and the day before the wedding, we had to put down one of our goats (RIP Tim). To top it all off, our priest didn’t show up!”
Luckily, her friends from church were able to perform the ceremony and they ended up having “a total blast.” She concluded, “It was truly one of our best days, completely awkward and human and beautiful. I’m married to my best friend and nothing has ever brought me more joy than that.”
Does Brandi Carlie Have Kids?
Yes, Brandi Carlie do have kids with Catherine Shepherds. On 15th of June 2014, Carlie and Shepherd welcomed their first child daughter Evangeline Ruth. The couple used IVF treatments to get pregnant and Carlie said in an interview that –
“I’m hoping people see through my story that there’s no right or wrong way to evolve into a parenting role in either heterosexual or same-sex relationships,”
