Big Little Lies Season 3 Release Date: When it is coming out?
In 2017, the first season of the show was released. While the second season made its way in 2019.
As we already know the show was a limited series and later continued the renewal process. It is because of the popularity that the show has received. Speaking of it, Creator David E Kelley told The Hollywood Reporter, “I didn’t think it was a very good idea. We wrote it as a one-off and we ended it in a very lyrical way. But we ended up lying. I get so protective of characters and series, too, that I don’t want to damage them in any way, and I so loved how we ended year one and I thought, ‘Let’s just leave it at that.'”
He further added, “A multitude of forces, but mainly it came down to a creative analysis. Liane wrote a novella of [new] stories, and most of them we’re using. But the genius one was introducing this character who’s being played by Meryl Streep.
“It’s a delicious character and I felt bringing her in was both liberating and daunting. Daunting because she sets a high bar and you have to measure up, but liberating in that now the show’s not going to be compared to last year. There was freedom in that.”
However, the showrunner added that at the time of writing, there is no plan to continue renewing the series. Though the cast has already hinted at the potential of the third season, we still don’t hold the plan on the table.
Andrea Arnold Leaving the Set of Big Little Lies?
HBO said, “There wouldn’t be a season two of Big Little Lies without Andrea Arnold. “We at HBO and the producers are extremely proud of her work. As with any television project, the executive producers work collaboratively on the series and we think the final product speaks for itself.”
Casey Bloys, HBO’s president of programming, also said, “We’re indebted to her, she did a beautiful job and she got extraordinary performances.
“As anybody who works in TV knows, the director typically does not have final creative control… the idea that creative control was taken from a director is just a false premise.”
Kidman was full of praise for Arnold. “I think she did beautiful work,” Witherspoon added: “Andrea’s wonderful. I feel like she was incredible…It was one of the most creatively collaborative experiences in my whole career. Everything was discussed as a creative group and entity.”
Big Little Lies Season 3 Cast: Who will be back?
In the third season, if it is going to happen, the main cast will be joining the show. Starting with The Monterey Five, the show includes Madeline (Reese Witherspoon), Celeste (Nicole Kidman), Bonnie (Zoë Kravitz), Jane (Shailene Woodley) and Renata (Laura Dern).
Coming to their, Husbands and exes, Ed (Adam Scott), Nathan (James Tupper) and Gordon (Jeffrey Nordling) and their Kids, Abigail (Kathryn Newton) and Chloe (Darby Camp), Ziggy (Iain Armitage), Josh (Cameron Crovetti) and Max (Nicholas Crovetti), Skye (Chloe Coleman) and Amabella (Ivy George).
David E Kelley also revealed, “I’m not sure logistically how it could be done because everyone is so busy. It [certainly] couldn’t be done right away. Down the road? Maybe.”
In an interview with Vogue, Witherspoon revealed that at first, she had her eye on Dern’s character. “I thought for a minute I might have played Renata,” she said. “But then I was in a meeting with David Kelley and Nicole and I said I didn’t know who I was going to play and they looked at me like I was crazy.
“They said, ‘You’re Madeline!’ And I said, ‘I am? What do you mean?’ And they were like, ‘You are very clearly Madeline.’ And I thought, ‘Is this an insult? I don’t know.’
“But then I kind of started thinking how I would do this. I started talking to Nicole, she was very helpful when I was creating the character. We added a lot of stuff that wasn’t in the book.”
Big Little Lies Season 3 Plot Updates: What will happen in the Series?
Chatting on Vanity Fair’s Little Gold Men podcast, Kravitz talked about the synopsis, saying that the second season of the series was filled with thrillers. Just as someone died at the end of season 1, we have someone for season 2 also.
“There was someone that was supposed to die, but it wasn’t me,” she said.
She added: “I think the way we ended the season was intriguing, but also everyone got to come together… I think that felt important to everybody because I think that was one of the most powerful things about the end of season one, is these women and our stories are all quite separate, but kind of finally coming together at the end.
“So I think that was the reason we went in the direction we did. But I would love to do another season.”
