At the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Monday night (April 1), Beyoncé was bestowed with the much-deserved Innovator Award. The “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer went on stage to receive her award from fellow legend Stevie Wonder.
“You are the first person I think of when someone asks who I would listen to for the rest of my life. She thanked the “Isn’t She Lovely” singer for playing the harmonica on her rendition of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” which can be found on her recently released album Cowboy Carter. “God bless you,” she said.
“I just want to thank you for motivating the world to become a better place,” Wonder then said to Bey in a kind way.
Beyoncé gave an emotional acceptance speech in which she explained what it means to her to be an innovator. “An idea becomes an innovation, but putting that idea into action can be a very difficult journey. She informed the audience, “Being an innovator is doing what everyone believes is impossible.”

She was dressed in keeping with her current country style, sporting a black cowboy hat, a large belt with a buckle, and a leather jumpsuit with fringe. Being an inventor frequently entails facing criticism, which will frequently put your mental toughness to the test. Being an innovator means putting your confidence in God to hold you up and lead you.
She went on, “My aim is that we’re more open to the joy and liberation that come from appreciating art without preconceived assumptions, to all the record labels, radio stations, and award shows. This award is intended to be a tribute to all the innovators who have committed their lives and artistic endeavors to bringing about change. I appreciate your selflessness, strength of character, and sacrifice.
Then, Bey praised Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Tracy Chapman, Linda Martell, Prince, Andre 3000, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Wonder, and other creative trailblazers for “executing your dream so we can all follow” and thanked them.
The “Break My Soul” singer concluded by expressing gratitude to her husband Jay-Z, whom she referred to as “my rock, my best friend,” and her three children, Blue Ivy, 12, and Sir and Rumi, 6, “who continue to be my inspiration and biggest blessing.”
