A source told that, “It hasn’t been the easiest summer for him either.”
Ben Affleck is dedicating a substantial amount of time to his professional endeavors this summer, as speculation regarding his marriage to Jennifer Lopez persists.
Affleck, 51, is still residing in the rental home in Brentwood, Calif., where he was staying in May, when sources first reported that he and Lopez, 55, were living separately, according to a source. He has not yet moved into the home in Los Angeles that he recently purchased.
“Ben’s doing well. He thrives when he’s busy and he’s been working nonstop,” the source says. “The kids are still off from school. He spends a lot of time with them, too.”
Since May, Affleck and Lopez have been the subject of intense public scrutiny; however, they maintained a united front at his daughter Violet’s high school commencement that same month.
The couple, who were married in 2022, have been apart for the majority of the summer due to Lopez’s cancellation of her tour. They have since spent the past two months on vacation in the Hamptons, New York and Europe.
After listing the Beverly Hills mansion they acquired in May 2023, Lopez and her partner recently returned to Los Angeles and commenced the search for a new residence.
“It hasn’t been the easiest summer for him either,” the source adds. “He’s just trying to stay focused and make every day as good as possible.”
Lopez is the mother of 16-year-old twins Maximilian “Max” David Muniz and Emme Maribel Muniz, who are shared with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. Affleck’s children are Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, who he shares with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner.
In the past few months, the Academy Award-winning filmmaker and actor has had his hands full filming a sequel to his 2016 action thriller, The Accountant. In addition, he is currently engaged in a variety of other projects as a writer, director, and producer. These include two films that he and Matt Damon produced that feature Lopez as an actor: Kiss of the Spider-Woman and Unstoppable.
On August 6, a source informed that Lopez and Affleck are “moving on separately” as she recently returned to the west coast. The source also stated that Lopez is currently in the process of finding a new home in order to start anew.
The international premiere of Unstoppable, which does not feature Affleck as an actor, will take place at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
