Additionally, the Olympic gold medalist is a knitter who works professionally.
Besides being a skilled swimmer, Tom Daley is also a competent knitter. He is a very talented individual!
In preparation for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, the diver who is 30 years old and represents Great Britain is making a grand entrance. The 17th of July was the day when he posted a picture of one of his most recent creations on social media.
Daley captioned an Instagram carousel: “My 5th Olympics is underway! I just wanted to jump in here and say a big thank you for all the support, and to let you know that we have so many exciting things coming up for #madewithlove!”.
Made with Love was introduced by Daley. Originally published by Tom Daley in August of 2020, following the viral success of his knitting needles during the Tokyo Olympics.
In the first slide of his upload on Wednesday, the swimmer displayed a drawing of a pullover that was too big for him. The color of the top was predominantly blue, and it had red trimming around the collar and the wrists.
The word “Paris” was written across the surface, and the Eiffel Tower, the most well-known landmark in the City of Love, served as the letter “A.”
Additionally, the Union Flag, popularly known as the Union Jack, was carved into the pattern close to the waist region.
Following the presentation of the concept, the subsequent slide displayed a shirtless Daley seated in only a pair of “Team GB” Olympic shorts. He was concentrating carefully on his needle and thread as he wove the design together.
In additional footage, he was shown sketching and examining his font on a computer screen.
The diver who won the gold medal at the Olympics has taken his skills to the next level by collaborating with companies such as Adidas to showcase his knitting ability.
The previous week, Daley gave an interview to British Vogue in which he discussed his pastime, which has obviously evolved into a business operation.
While showing off “the everyday essentials he carries in his @Dior tote” during an Instagram clip with the fashion publication, he confessed, “I, of course, have some yarn on me at all times.”
“Also my knitting needles, which come in all kinds of shapes and sizes,” he continued. “Knitting, for me, became my therapy.”
He states that he “first picked up my knitting needles in March 2020” in a message that he posted on the Made with Love website associated with Daley.
After three years, the athlete’s devotion has resulted in the production of joggers, shirts, baby garments, and other items.
“I designed these knit kits to help encourage you to pick up those needles, learn the basics, and fall in love with knitting at the same time – all whilst creating something to show off or pass on,” he adds.
Beginning on July 26 and continuing until August 11, 2024, the Summer Olympics will be televised live from Paris on NBC.
