As the world struggles with the COVID-19 pandemic, film productions everywhere are shut as a result. The Batman, Fantastic Beasts 3, Avatar 2 have all shut production. But there is good news for at least one of them! New Zealand, which has successfully managed to flatten the curve, is permitting film productions to resume production.
The long-awaited film has been delayed several times and there were fears that the film may end up being delayed again. But James Cameron assuaged those fears by saying that there was a very good chance that the movie will not end up delayed.
We’re Definitely Returning To Pandora Soon
As per one of the film’s producers, Jon Landau, the film is all set to resume production very soon. On Instagram, the legendary producer posted a cool behind-the-scenes photo from the film’s shoot, and also confirmed that “we couldn’t be more excited to be headed back to New Zealand next week”.
Cameron who is a vocal advocate of environmental issues, had this to say when it came to making the film. “It’s putting a major crimp in our stride here,” the Avatar director said. He insisted that he wanted to get back to work on Avatar, “which right now we’re not allowed to do under state emergency laws or rules. So it’s all on pause right now… We were about to shoot down in New Zealand, so that got pushed. We’re trying to get back to it as quick as we can.”
Avatar 2 will star Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Giovanni Ribisi, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, CCH Pounder, and Matt Gerald.
The film also has a fair share of new castmembers including big-names like Kate Winslet, Michelle Yeoh, David Thewlis.
