Ariana Madix has announced that she will no longer be hosting Love Island USA, where she had a "magic" experience. Here is where she is going next!

In an Instagram picture published on Monday, July 22, the 39-year-old star of Vanderpump Rules reflected on her first season as the host of the Peacock series. The post was published one day after the conclusion of the sixth season, in which Serena Page and Kordell Beckham were both proclaimed the victors.

“Thank you to everyone at @loveislandusa for everything you do to bring this show to life from the art department to the music to being in my ear every night 🥰,” she wrote about her time on set in Fiji.

Madix, also a Love Island superfan, then thanked the cast: “Thank you to these islanders who gave us magic.”

In the Instagram image, Madix was seen posing beside the victors, which included the runner-up couple Miguel Harichi and Leah Kateb, the third-place duo JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez, and the fourth-place couple Kendall Washington and Nicole Jacky.

“Each one of you is so important to what made this season so special and you are all amazing. 💖,” she concluded. “I know we are all missing you guys already!”

Madix smiled as the eight got together dripping wet after diving into the villa pool to celebrate the season’s end.

Bravo’s actress called her six weeks hosting the series in Fiji a “dream summer.”

She posted after the July 21 finale, which awarded season favorites Serena and Kordell $100,000.

She also exclusively told PEOPLE that “hosting this season has been absolutely amazing.”

“Even from the very first night, it felt magical, and it felt like the energy was just on fire,” she explained. She noted that she would have loved to see more of the Islanders’ conversations throughout the series, adding that’s when she got to know the cast. “It’s like you can’t show everything, of course. But in the moment, I really enjoyed those chats and I enjoyed getting to know them in those moments.”

“Especially the first night, you could see who was making eye contact across the way from each other and stuff like that,” she said. “So I really enjoy that stuff. So, if I had an extended director’s cut of the episode, I would make those parts longer.

After six weeks in Fiji, Madix is returning to Broadway. In May, exclusively confirmed that Madix would resume her role as murderous adulteress Roxie Hart in Chicago, the Tony-winning production, from Aug. 1 to Sept. 1.

In a recent interview, she said she prepared for her August Broadway musical return in the villa. Madix told PEOPLE she hadn’t “really had time to rehearse,” but she warmed up her musical talents in the South Pacific.

“I have been doing my vocal warmups that my voice coach has sent and I did, yesterday in the gym at the hotel, start doing a ‘Hot Honey Rag’ in the mirror,” she continued, referring to the big Fosse-inspired dance sequence at the end of the musical. “But I was nervous that people would walk in! ‘I wonder what’s going on with this crazy lady?'”

She has “two days to rehearse” before coming onstage, but she has been practicing her dance movements to not “scare” people.

She returned to Broadway after a 10-week run that set box office records in January.

A Love Island USA reunion episode — hosted by Madix — will premiere on Peacock on Aug. 14.

Behind Love Island scenes

In June 2024, season 4 TikTok video cast member Phoebe Siegel explained how talent managers and producers check applicants’ luggage before they appear.“They do this because you are not to have any clothing ‘brands’ visible on the show,” Siegel wrote. Black tape also hides makeup company labels.

Samie Elishi reported on YouTube that Love Island UK competitors can only bring two suitcases of clothes for the eight-week competition. Love Island UK offered eBay-renewable pre-loved fashion.

Madix’s words and viewers’ reactions show reality TV fashion’s strange and humorous dynamics. Rob Rausch’s overalls have influenced this season of Love Island USA, but whether they will become a trend is unknown.
