Angelina Jolie fears teen daughter will be victim of ‘systemic racism and discrimination’

Angelina Jolie has joined the debate in the United States with her thoughts on whether her daughter will be a victim of racism.
The 45-year-old actress has undeniably expressed her fears that her 15-year-old daughter named Zahara will be targeted as she grows up.
Angelina had adopted Zahara from Ethiopia with Brad Pitt but she is worried that she will be mistreated at some point.
The Pretext
Racial tensions are at the top in the United States especially after the death of George Floyd at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer.
Black Lives Matter protests have dominated the news across the globe.
On this specific issue, Angelina gave her comments.
She said that there are more than 70 million people who have had to flee their homes worldwide because of war and persecution.
Angelina added that its a shame that there are racism and discrimination prevalent in America.
She said that a system that protects her but might not protect her daughter based on skin colour is intolerable.
Procession
Angelina said that we as a country, need to progress beyond sympathy and good intentions.
We need to focus on laws and policies that actually address structural racism and impunity.
She went on to say that ending abuses in policing is just the start.
It goes far beyond that, to all aspects of society, from our education system to our politics.
Apparently, Angelina serves as Special Envoy of the High Commissioner for Refugees for the United Nations.
