The actress and musician have been companions for “several years,” according to sources.
According to an exclusive source, Angelina Jolie and rapper Akala are not in a romantic relationship, despite the rumors that they were a couple after they were seen exiting a hotel in Venice.
“She and Akala are not in a romantic relationship.” On Thursday, August 29, one source disclosed that she has contact with him and his companion, Chanelle, who was also present.
In May, In Touch reported that the actress, 49, had been covertly seeing the British musician, 40, for “more than a year” before the photographs of the two at the film festival were taken.
A second source informs that the Oscar-winning actress has been acquainted with Akala for “several years.” The source affirms that Jolie, 49, is currently unmarried and not in a serious relationship.
“They share the same passion when it comes to social and humanitarian causes,” the second source tells. “They did several collabs over the years that focus on global issues like human rights. Angie speaks very highly of him.”
Eight years after Jolie and her ex-husband Brad Pitt divorced, there is speculation regarding her friendship with the rapper.
Disputes regarding the guardianship of their six children, including sons Maddox and Pax Thien, daughters Shiloh Nouvel and Zahara Marley and twins Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline, have persisted for years following their separation.
This year, both Jolie and Pitt will be in attendance at the 2024 Venice Film Festival. Angeina Jolie is currently advertising her most recent project, Maria, in collaboration with director Pablo Larraín, while Pitt is promoting his most recent film, Wolfs.
Alberto Barbera, the artistic director of the festival, recently stated to Vanity Fair that their appearances on the red carpet are “of course” dispersed.
“Angelina will be on the first day, on Thursday [Aug.] 29, and she will leave right after with [Maria director] Pablo Larraín to go to [the] Telluride [Film Festival],” he told the outlet. “Brad will arrive only on Saturday, to Venice. There is no way that they can cross each other at the Lido.”
On Thursday, Jolie’s film was released, and she was met with an eight-minute standing ovation and ecstatic accolades for her portrayal of opera singer Maria Callas.
Jolie discussed her intimate relationship with the late Callas at the Thursday press conference in advance of the premiere.
“I think the way I related to her may be a surprise — [it was] probably the part of her that’s extremely soft and doesn’t have room in the world to be as soft as she truly was, and as emotionally open as she truly was,” she said of Callas. “I share her vulnerability more than anything.”
