The new decision of Amazon will be a face hit on its affiliates. That is the company is cutting its commission percentages from its affiliate link sales. Amazon’s affiliate includes publishers and influencers in it. Those who are part of the affiliate program can use amazon links in their publishing mediums. Through that, they got a small amount of commission whenever someone made a sale through the link until now.
The commission cut will start from April 21. The commission cut for furniture and home improvement products is from 8% to 3%. Besides, the grocery products from 5% to 1%. That is not a cut, that feels like making the commission scheme vanish. NOt only the above mentioned, but many other things including health products also included in the list.
Products And Rate Changes
- 8% to 3% = Furniture, Home, Home Improvement, Pet products, Lawn & Garden, and pantry.
- 6% to 3% = Musical instruments, Headphones, Beauty, Business & Industrial supplies.
- 5.5% to 3% = Outdoors and Tools.
- 4.5% to 3% = Sports and Baby products.
- 5% to 1% = Health and Personal care.
- Amazon fresh will also cut from 3% to 1%.
Beyond these facts, Amazon is also taking the steps to remove the third party affiliate networks. They will be looking forward to working directly with publishers. That means third-party affiliates such as Skimlinks will no longer able to make a commission from Amazon.
COVID-19 caused some inventory problems for sellers that made them pull back from advertisements. Even though they are getting criticized by many for this decision.
