A zombie outbreak has erupted at your school, and your school has been transformed into a chaotic epicentre of chaos. One minute you’re in science class, the next you’re eating lunch in the cafeteria. This is the scenario depicted in the popular Korean drama All of Us Are Dead, which is currently streaming on Netflix.
In this 12-episode series, there are dozens of memorable characters to keep track of, each of whom plays an important role in the story. But, when you’re watching the show, how will you ever remember which ones are which? We’ve got you covered, don’t be concerned. The following are some of the most important characters to keep an eye on throughout the nearly nonstop action and drama at Hyosan High School, and elsewhere in South Korea.
Nam on-jo (Park Ji-hu)
If there is a main character in All of Us Are Dead, it is almost certainly On-jo. She is the voice of reason and calms in the midst of chaos, and she is frequently the source of ingenious survival suggestions, thanks to her father’s work as a paramedic and firefighter. Aside from that, she is fiercely loyal to her friends, and she will fight for them until the end of the world. There’s also a subplot involving a love triangle, as On-jo has a crush on her popular classmate, Su-hyeok, and is completely unaware of the fact that her lifelong friend, Cheong-sun, has a crush on her as well.
Park, like the majority of the cast, is a relative newcomer to the scene. The coming-of-age independent film House of Hummingbird marked her feature film debut, and she will next appear in a Korean television adaptation of the classic novel Little Women.
Lee Cheong-san (Yoon Chan-young)
Cheong-san, who is possibly the series’ co-lead character with On-jo, finds himself in a lot of unexpected situations throughout the course of the series, and (almost) always manages to think quickly in order to avoid disaster. On-jo is his primary concern, and it’s clear that he’ll go to any length to keep her safe from harm.
Similar to On-jo, he is fiercely loyal to his friends, and he will go to any length to ensure their safety. A particularly endearing scene in the series involves Cheong-displeasure sans at the fact that his mother has named her chicken restaurant after him, complete with a cartoon logo featuring his face.
Lee Su-hyeok (Park Solomon)
As previously stated, Su-hyeok is On-aforementioned jo’s crush, and it’s easy to see why, given his attractiveness. He’s one of the most popular kids at Hyosan High, and he’s got his pick of the most beautiful girls in the school. It’s unclear whether On-jo or the quiet, studious class president catches his attention first.
One of the things that make this series’ teen drama so compelling is the presence of another love triangle. He is a reformed bully, and he, Cheong-san, and the rest of the gang are all too willing to put themselves in danger to save their friends.
Choi Nam-ra (Cho Yi-hyun)
Nam-ra, the class president, is affectionately referred to as “Prez” by her classmates because she is a serious student who does not engage in much social interaction with her peers. Although Su-hyeok shows obvious interest in her, she dismisses him on several occasions — until zombies begin attacking people all around her. As the crisis unfolds, she sheds her shell and emerges as a vital member of the group’s survival team, despite the fact that others are skeptical about her sincere desire to assist them.
Yoon Gwi-nam (Yoo in-soo)
Gwi-Nam isn’t the most dominant member of his group at the start of the outbreak, but he quickly rises to that position. At first, he’s just as terrified as everyone else, but he quickly develops a ruthless streak, literally throwing people to the zombies in order to escape. His treasonous behaviour only gets worse from then on. Eventually, he transforms into one of the most easily despised villains you’ll ever see.
It’s interesting to note that, according to Netflix, Yoo and Yoon, who plays Cheong-san, are good friends in real life, despite the fact that they are each other’s nemesis in the series. Yoo has appeared in several films, including the coming-of-age drama At a Distance, the drama Spring is Green, and the second season of Stranger.
Lee Na-yeon (Lee You-mi)
Although she is perceived as somewhat arrogant, Na-yeon is widely disliked by the students with whom she is stranded in the show’s first few episodes. Gyeong-Su, Cheong-best san’s friend, is treated with contempt by her because he is on welfare. Every time someone appears to be infected with the virus, Na-yeon is the first to demand that the person leave the room, even if doing so means that they will almost certainly be infected (or even killed) the moment they set foot outside the building.
Jang Ha-ri (Ha Seung-lee)
Ha-ri is described as “so cool” by one of the characters. She’s the captain of the archery team, and she’s got a knack for hitting the bullseye, which comes in handy when the zombies come swarming. Despite the fact that she had just experienced a crushing disappointment by failing to qualify for the regionals at the competition, Ha-ri quickly redeems herself by saving countless numbers of students with her Hawkeye-like accuracy.

She assists in leading a group of survivors who have been trapped in a girls’ bathroom, away from the main characters who have been trapped in the classroom.
Park Mi-jin (Lee Eun-saem)
After Ha-ri successfully dispatches an attacking zombie, Mi-jin develops a romantic interest in the young archer. After initially engaging in a verbal — and then physical — confrontation, the two form a strong bond. There’s nothing like a life-or-death situation to force people to put their differences aside in the name of survival. Mi-jin is one of the more amusing characters in the series, and her wisecracks are frequently enough to make you laugh out loud.

Yang Dae-su (Lim Jae-hyuk)
Dae-su is a pleasant surprise because he serves as the group’s comic relief. Yes, he has some amusing lines, such as calling his friend “brother-in-law” because he has a huge crush on his older sister, Ha-ri, and referring to his friend as “brother-in-law.” Additionally, Dae-su is an excellent singer who has graced the group with more than one song throughout their journey. In addition to cracking jokes and making amusing facial expressions, Dae-su has also been featured in several music videos. He also fights against what could be considered cowardice early on, and he eventually rises to become one of the leaders of the group.
Lim’s first acting role was in All of Us Are Dead, and according to a Korean reporter, he is still employed in construction and as a delivery rider at the time of writing.

Adults play important roles in the series, despite the fact that it is primarily centered on students in the first instalment. This list includes some of the most notable adults who assist the children in surviving the zombie apocalypse.
Park Sun-hwa (Bae Hae-Sun)
Ms. Park, an English teacher, is the first member of the faculty to notice that something significant is taking place at her school. She transports the first infected student to the school’s infirmary and works to save as many other students as she can along the way. In addition to being one of the series’ protagonists, she’s also one of the few teachers who appears to be interested in assisting someone other than herself.
Lee Byeong-chan (Kim Byong-Chul)
Ms. Park, an English teacher, is the first member of the faculty to discover that something significant is taking place at her school. She transports the first afflicted student to the school’s infirmary and works to save as many other pupils as she can along the way. In addition to being one of the series’ protagonists, she’s also one of the few teachers who appears to be interested in assisting someone other than herself.
Nam So-ju (Jeon Bae-soo)
So-ju, On-paramedic/firefighter jo’s father, is yet another great figure in this sequence of adventures. He ignores convention in an attempt to reach his daughter at school, and in the process, he puts his survival abilities to use. His journey will take him through some difficult terrain, including deciding whether to save a family trapped in an overturned truck or to let them to fend for themselves so that he can locate and rescue On-jo.
