After the debunking of romance rumors, Martin Short and Meryl Streep Reunite at the Only Murders in the Building Season 4 Premiere

After the two ignited romance speculations at the Golden Globes, a representative for Short stated in January that the co-stars of “Only Murders in the Building” are “just very good friends, nothing more.”

At the launch of the fourth season of Only Murders in the Building, Meryl Streep and Martin Short reunited.

At Thursday, August 22, the fourth season premiere of the popular Hulu series took place at the Paramount Lot in Los Angeles, where the co-stars posed and grinned together.

Wearing a broad belt around her waist, Streep embellished her black and white Stella McCartney outfit. Streep looked effortlessly stylish in her white handbag and slip-on flats, styled by Micaela Erlanger.

Short opted for a traditional appearance, wearing a black suit and a burgundy tie with grey patterns.

Short made his presence about eight months after he allayed rumors regarding the nature of his friendship with Streep, with whom he appeared especially close at the 2024 Golden Globes in January.

The actor later refuted the accusations once more on Bill Maher’s show, saying the two costars are “not a couple, we are just very close friends.” Short’s representative had previously stated that the two are “not a couple, we are just very close friends.”

“It’s always interesting,” said Short in May in response to questions about his connection with Streep, who announced in October that she had split from her 45-year spouse, Don Gummer, six years prior. Demonstrate business ties and specifications.

When asked whether it makes him uncomfortable to be questioned about it, he said, “No,” adding, “She’s fabulous. There’s no one who doesn’t adore her.”

Though he denied the relationship, Short admitted that when the Mamma Mia! actor joined OMITB for season 3, he was a little more anxious than normal before set.

“I remember driving to work and thought, ‘Gee, this is odd. I’m a little bit [nervous]. Oh, of course! I’m going to do a two-person scene with Meryl.’ ”

However, his nerves quickly dissipated. “It’s a very, very, very loose, fun-filled set,” he shared. “I think everyone has the same review of that working on the show — that it’s really fun and loose — and that’s kind of the philosophy of Steve, the way he’s always worked, and so is Selena [Gomez].”

“Everyone works in joy and happiness, because we’re lucky people,” he added.
