A decade has passed & we’re finally getting Strike Witches Season 3. Based on the same name’s light novel series, its 2 seasons were released from 2008 to 2010.
Ever since then, there was dead silence on the release of season 3. Meanwhile, we saw a film adaption releasing in 2012 & a spin-off series Brave Witches in 2016.
That was good but not enough. Now, a decade later, we’ve got the 3rd season of the Strike Witches anime series.

Started as a manga series in 2005, Strike Witches is the reason behind successful anime series, light novel series, television series & video games.
It’s not just a series now. It has become a franchise.
A franchise that has its anime series, anime film, & multiple spin-off series in the collection. As for the Strike Witches Season 3, Anime Studio David Production announced its release on October 7 of 2020 with the name Strike Witches: Road to Berlin.
The announcement was not limited to the third season. It included the release of yet another spin-off series, Luminous Witches. If everything goes right in its production, you can stream it by the end of 2021.

Artist Fumikane Shimada is the original character designer and creator of the series.
He & director Kazuhiro Takamura of David Production has returned for the 3rd season. Along with them, Tatsuhiko Urata will once take responsibility as a chief writer.

What Happened in Strike Witches Anime Series Previously?
Before you go ahead and watch Strike Witches: Road to Berlin, let’s catch up to what happened a decade earlier in 2010.
Strike Witches is an anime series that’s heavily based on an alternate reality.
And its World War 2 & a mysterious alien force has entered the earth.
Then something unthinkable happened.
Instead of fighting each other, the world’s armed forces joined hands together to defeat the unknown alien force that infiltrated planet earth.
Now, to defeat the alien force, Neuroi needs 3 girls who have some mysterious magical powers. These young are trained in aerial combat. So, these use their training to fight against the alien force with machines attached to their legs.
Because of their expert in Aerial combat, the young girls are fond of real-life pilots & hence, take inspiration from them.
To further enhance the magic’s strength, the young girls take the help of Striker Units. The two seasons
