Guzman recently had an interview where he revealed how he felt after filming the emotional scene. He said, “That was a very difficult scene,” He talked further, “My real life started to bleed into my acting and I became focused on how I would say this to my son.
“How am I going to show my son that what is about to happen is going to hurt me beyond belief? But how can I also stay strong for him and allow him to follow through with his decision? It was a lot.”
Teasing how long Christopher will be gone, Guzman added: “I know for sure that in the first episode [of Season 8], we likely won’t see Eddie and Christopher together.
“My hope is that Eddie has a good portion of time without Christopher, which would allow him the opportunity to find new structure, maybe rework who he is a little bit, and find new textures of life for him.”
9-1-1 Season 8 Plot Updates: What to Expect with the show?
There has been no exact news on the plot of the show but in a recent interview with Peter Krause, he revealed the plans for the series by saying,
“[Creator] Tim [Minear] and I talked about, perhaps, Athena and Bobby being in an apartment or a hotel and being confined together again like on the cruise ship, perhaps, for a little while at the end of Season 8,” he said to the outlet. “Their relationship is deeper and stronger now, and I think we can withstand some comedy. I had also suggested to him that maybe they go on an RV trip together as a second chance at a honeymoon. So I don’t know if that’ll ever happen or not, but I mean, it’s an RV trip. What could go wrong?”
“I think that Bobby accepts that he can’t erase the past, that it is something he’ll carry with him, but with as much grace as possible and he can continue in his life of service as a firefighter, and as a good husband,” Peter told Entertainment Weekly in May 2024 about his character’s trajectory in season 8.” I also think that Bobby might become a little bit more involved in the AA world, and be of service to people who are struggling with [sobriety]. I think that would be an interesting storyline.” He added.
