HP has a great deal on hand for those looking for a cheap, powerful laptop. It may be an especially exciting prospect for those who are working from home. If your current machine isn’t cutting it in terms of performance, or if you don’t have one, to begin with, the HP Laptop 15T 7FQ32AV_1 may be the answer to your prayers.
A Great CPU
There is one main reason why this laptop is catching everyone’s attention and that’s the processor at its heart. It comes with an incredibly powerful Intel Core i7-10510U processor. This is the latest, 10th-generation variant of Intel’s processors.
While Intel may have introduced the Core i9 tier as its top dog now, the Core i7 remains an extremely competent CPU. Basic tasks like boot-up, opening and closing windows, browsing the web, etc. should be quite smooth with this CPU.
Decent Overall Specs
It also comes with Intel’s newest UHD Graphics. Don’t get me wrong, this won’t get you the same performance as a dedicated NVIDIA or AMD GPU. However, Intel has consistently improved the built-in graphics performance of their processors every generation. The 10th-gen processors are especially great in this department. You can upgrade to an NVIDIA MX130 or even an MX250 if you need some extra juice, though.
That’s not all that this laptop has to offer, either. It comes with a respectable set of components to fill out the rest of the motherboard. The 8 GB of DDR4 RAM running at 2666 MHz should handle some basic multitasking on its own. However, if you think you’ll need more, you can choose to add another stick of 4 GB or 8 GB RAM, giving you 12 or 16 GB RAM in total.
The base model comes with a 128 GB M.2 SATA SSD drive for storage. However, you can get more storage, including a 1 TB HDD that spins at 5400 rpm. The HD webcam with a dual-array microphone should give you a serviceable video calling experience. It can also come with 802.11 ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2, so if you happen to have any peripherals, it’ll work with them, too.

Some Drawbacks HP, But A Great Deal
All of these specs will give you solid performance overall. The 1366×769 display isn’t the sharpest or brightest, but it’ll get the job done. The laptop itself isn’t particularly sleek in its design, either.
Weighing in at 3.84lb, it’s not the lightest, either. What it does do, however, is give you a powerful machine for a ridiculously cheap price. Its port selection isn’t shabby either, with an HDMI 1.4 port, 2 USB 3.1 Type-A ports, 1 USB 3.1 Type-C port and a headphone/mic jack.
